Spirit is a stunning stallion and comes from top showjumping and dressage lines. He has an exceptionally laid back attitude which hopefully he will pass onto his foals. He also has wonderful floating athletic paces.

Spirits Grand-sire, Ico Sun (known as Daz when jumping with John Whitacker) is one of the few coloured stallions who competed showjumping at national level in Holland.  His sire ‘Ico’ (known as the jumping sire), is an International showjumper and bred ‘Nekoma’ who jumped in the Achen Grand Prix at just 6 years of age and is the legendary puissance specialist, whose record is 7 foot 7 inches! Ico is by Marco Polo. Marco Polo was one of the foundation sires of the modern Dutch Warmblood sporthorse. Of Trakehner origin, he was introduced to the Dutch breeding program in 1965. He became one of the greatest sires of the Netherlands, famous for his hereditary jumping talent and obliging character. He sired many international showjumpers including Recruut, Irco Polo and Marius who went on to sire Milton.
Spirits dam, Ardenwood Snow Princess (not shown due to an injury) is a full sister to Ardenwood Hopi Princess(CHAPS Reserve Supreme Champion) who has a very successful showing career at the top level.
